Why is the Pulse Critical?

Our pulse sends out one clear message, it provides us all with a gauge on our performance levels, it is a clear indication of our health and increases or decreases in line with how we are feeling at any one time and is all linked up to our engine room, the heart, driving effective operation and efficient function. When you mirror this to an organisation wouldn’t it be the ideal outcome to have:
  • One consistent message that is regularly issued, that is clearly communicated and fully understood by all key stakeholders across all functions within the organisation, just like our heart and pulse beating on a regular basis.
  • Understanding of our performance levels highlighting the good news but also raising the potentially not so good news, as with our pulse that provides one indication of our health at any given point in time.
  • Able to obtain a regular update on the mood and feeling across the business and discuss challenges and successes. In the same way, our pulse increases when we are performing at a high level and achieving results through exerting ourselves or how it reduces when we are in a relaxed state or how it increases when we are excited or nervous or decreases when we are not as focused or complacent.
  • Input from all functions across the business to ensure that we are operating in the most efficient and effective way. Just in the same way our heart regularly beats working in harmony with other vital organs to achieve the same goal
Having our finger on the pulse, supports a regular health and performance check and can be achieved through an effective Integrated business planning (IBP) process implemented across the business.  Please stay tune for more about Pulse Planning.
